We hope you are well and staying cool and dry during this hot monsoon summer! Thank you for your support that allows us to continue to provide services to people living with HIV. Here are some community events and news you might be interested in: social gatherings, fundraising events, volunteer opportunities, ways to engage with your community, and more. A Sunday Funday Afternoon Fundraiser for TIHAN – August 11 at the FOE on Stone
Join us! Sunday, August 11 from 11am-3pm at The Fraternal Order of Eagles Tucson Aerie Tucson Number 180 (1530 N Stone Avenue). Longtime TIHAN volunteers Patricia and Robert Ruiz and their team of friends started this benefit two years ago, and raised $3,300 for TIHAN! And they’re doing it again! It’s a fun afternoon of music, food, community, and helping people in need. It’s free to attend, and you can buy delicious food (only $10 a plate for tacos, rice, and beans) and enter into dozens of raffles for donated baskets and gift cards. There will be a DJ and a bar, and lots of friends coming out on a Sunday afternoon into the cool of the FOE building to raise funds for people living with HIV.

Volunteer Opportunities and Our Next Volunteer Orientation
Check out our current volunteer opportunities, and see if one is right for you! Our next volunteer orientation will be on Thursday, September 5th at 1:00pm. We currently have more than a dozen volunteer roles we are recruiting for, and you can find out more information about all of them by visiting https://tihan.org/volunteer/#current-vol-opps. Roles include direct service, admin support, and fundraising areas, including Operations Assistants – front desk reception duties and general office support, Link Specialist volunteers – providing information, referral, and support services for people living with HIV, and Community Ambassadors – representing TIHAN at community events where we have an information/resource table.

El Tour de Tucson Riders Raise Funds for TIHAN!
El Tour de Tucson is now preparing to host the 41st year for one of the premier bicycling events in the country. It takes place on November 23, 2024, with over 9,000 cyclists participating in the renowned and popular event with distances from 102 miles to family fun rides of 1 mile! TIHAN volunteer Doug Wingert, our liaison with Catalina United Methodist Church, is training to once again ride in the 102-mile event, raising funds for TIHAN.
