We’re hoping you had a nice Thanksgiving! December is here and we have big things happening, and we can’t wait to share them with you! Here are a few opportunities to celebrate the season, win, give, and share. And a holiday cookie exchange party to be held at our new office location to give you a preview before we move in January!

Target Date for Holiday Gift Items and Gift Cards is This Week!
This week is our target date to collect holiday gifts and gift cards to share with our CarePartners living with HIV. We’re seeking new, unused, and unwrapped gifts ($15-$25 in value) as well as $25 gift cards for our CarePartners. We need a count of how many gifts and gift cards we have so that our Lead Program Coordinator Gina can plan accordingly for gift distribution based on how many people we can help this year, so we need your gifts this week.
Remember: most of our CarePartners are over the age of 50, live alone, and survive on disability income. Popular gift items include small toaster ovens, bath towel sets, crock pots, blenders, pots and pans, pillows, coffeemakers, blankets. It’s challenging when people donate clothes because of the issue with various sizes, so we ask for non-clothing gifts.
We are seeking your $25 gift cards to Target, Walmart, or Fry’s. Board President Leslie Kahn and her wife Susan Heinrich have generously agreed to match up to 80 gift cards (thank you!) so every $25 holiday gift card you donate will be matched, so two CarePartners will receive a gift card due to the matching gift!
You can drop off your gifts Mon-Fri between 8:30am-5:00pm to the TIHAN office (2660 N 1st Avenue, between Grant and Glenn on the east side of 1st Avenue). THANK YOU for brightening the holidays for our CarePartners living with HIV! Your generosity brings smiles, warmth, and help to folks right here in our community.
TIHAN’s Holiday Open House/Cookie Exchange Party Will Preview Our New Office Location!
TIHAN’s office is moving in January! We are excited to announce our new offices will be located on the campus of our partner Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church located on Campbell, just north of Speedway! We are thrilled to expand our partnership and share their beautiful space. Even though we’re not making the move until January, we’re hosting our annual Holiday Cookie Exchange Party and Holiday Open House at Our Saviour’s on Wednesday, December 18 between 4:00-6:00pm. We are inviting volunteers, donors, CarePartners, and friends to stop by, enjoy a treat, and get to know each other! Stop by, bring a dozen cookies, enjoy lots of sweet treats, and see what will soon be our new offices. Please provide ingredient information if the cookies contain nuts, as some people have allergies. We’ll provide coffee, cider, and hot chocolate. Please RSVP to OperationsManager@tihan.org to help us know how many to expect.
Tuesday, December 3 is Giving Tuesday
Giving Tuesday is an international day of giving. Right after Thanksgiving are lots of opportunities to shop, including Black Friday, Small Business Saturday (support local!), and Cyber Monday. But as we turn our attention back to being grateful for what we have and what others may need, we come to Giving Tuesday, a day of giving to help people in need. Let’s never take for granted the blessings we have received, and share what we can with others. Giving Tuesday donations can be made at www.tihan.org
Last Call to Buy Raffle Tickets – Friday is Deadline
Last chance to get your raffle tickets is this Friday! We are almost at the deadline for purchasing a chance to win this beautiful new 2024 vehicle, or airline tickets, or $5,000 CASH! Tickets are only $25 each, or save by purchasing 5 tickets for $100, but you must purchase by this Friday afternoon!
TIHAN is one of the nonprofits participating in this year’s Millions for Tucson raffle sponsored by Jim Click Automotive Group. Grand prize: 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Plug-In Hybrid. 2nd Prize: Two roundtrip first-class airline tickets to anywhere in the world. 3rd Prize: $5,000 cash! (Winner of the grand prize has the cash option of 75% of the MSRP of that grand prize.)
100% of proceeds from our ticket sales will benefit TIHAN’s programs and services for people living with HIV. A maximum of 120,000 tickets can be sold, so your odds are much better than the lottery. Tickets are available only through Friday, December 6, and a public drawing will be held the following Thursday, December 12. Must be 21 years of age to purchase. Complimentary Gift for TIHAN Volunteers, Donors, and CarePartners: Concert Tickets!
A special treat for you. Reveille has given us tickets to share for their winter concert “Our Favorite Things” taking place Saturday December 14 (7:30pm) and Sunday, December 15 (2:00pm) at the Temple of Music & Art. TIHAN donors, volunteers, and CarePartners can receive two tickets for either show. Please request your tickets by emailing scott@tihan.org by this Friday, December 6. Thanks to Reveille for this generous gift to TIHAN to ensure that more people can experience their heartwarming and entertaining holiday showcase that will feature some of our favorite songs, memories, and surprises to fill you with joy and holiday spirit.
